The last week isn’t just about checking tasks off, it’s also about feeling confident and ready for the moments that matter most. Writing things down while practicing helps solidify them and reduces day-of nerves.

1. Vows

Write them down neatly in a vow book or on a card so you aren’t fumbling with phone screens or crumpled paper.
Read them out loud several times. You’ll hear how they flow and where you might stumble.
Practice pacing, pausing for emotion, and looking up at your partner.
Note any last-minute tweaks or words that don’t feel natural.

2. Speeches or toasts (if you’re giving one)

Have a bullet point list or outline in case nerves make you forget.
Practice in front of a mirror or a trusted friend to get comfortable with the rhythm.
Time yourself so you stay in that sweet spot of heartfelt but concise.

3. Ceremony cues

If you’re doing a unity ritual, special reading, or personal twist, jot down the exact order and steps.
Make a mini cheat sheet for yourself or your officiant.
Practice walking at a slow, steady pace to your processional song.

4. First dance

Even if it’s not choreographed, take a few minutes to practice swaying with your partner (maybe even put on an outfit that will mock dancing in a wedding dress).
Note your comfort zone: spins, dips, or just a simple embrace.
If there’s a lift or dramatic move, mark where it happens in the song.

5. Remember this moment

One day you’ll be looking back on this day. Write a letter to your future self or simply jot down your feelings right now. It will help get it out of your brain and save it for a future memory.

Other bits you can write out:

A letter to your partner to exchange on the wedding morning
Gratitude notes for parents, bridal party, or other special people
Special memories from the planning process
Hopes and dreams for the marriage ahead
